She stood at the center of one of the most explosive legal battles involving a member of the British royal family—now, Virginia Giuffre says she doesn’t have much time left.

Virginia Giuffre, a prominent advocate for victims of sex trafficking, has revealed she is facing a critical health battle following a severe bus crash.

In an emotional Instagram post on Monday, Virginia shared a photo showing deep bruises on her face. She claimed she has been given just four days to live after suffering kidney failure.

“This year has been the worst start to a new year,” she wrote. “I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology.”

The crash, she said, involved a school bus traveling at high speed. The exact location of the accident remains unknown. Describing the impact, Virginia said a school bus driver had come at her vehicle while traveling at 110 kilometers per hour as she and others were slowing for a turn.

She remarked that in such a situation, it didn’t matter what the car was made of. Virginia ended her message with what sounded like a farewell to her followers. Giuffre said she was ready to go, though she hoped to see her children “one last time.” She thanked people for being “the wonderful people of the world” and for playing a part in her life.

Virginia, who is also known for accusing Prince Andrew of sexual abuse—allegations he has denied—has become a key figure in the international conversation on sex trafficking and victim support. While Virginia’s post drew sympathy from many, one public figure close to the Prince Andrew controversy has taken a sharply different stance.

Lady Victoria Hervey, a former girlfriend of Prince Andrew, reacted with open skepticism. Posting to her Instagram stories, she shared the photo of Giuffre’s bruised face and captioned it simply, “KARMA.”

Victoria continued to voice her doubts in a series of posts. In one, she questioned why Giuffre’s husband, Robert, had remained silent. She claimed he “knows the truth of the fake photo and all her con jobs.”

In another story, Victoria dismissed Virginia’s claims of having only days to live. She suggested that law enforcement was closing in, alleging the FBI was preparing to act. “She’s conveniently dying to evade jail,” Victoria wrote.

She also implied a pattern, saying that each time a legal proceeding approached, Virginia would “come up with something like this.” Calling Virginia “the Queen of the fake photo,” Victoria expressed distrust of visual evidence alone. She said she would not jump to conclusions.

Victoria’s most pointed comments accused Virginia of destroying lives and families for financial gain. She called the situation “divine judgment by God,” and said karma has a way of catching up.

In a final story, Victoria brought up Virginia’s associate, Maria Farmer, questioning her credibility and past legal actions. She suggested both women had submitted false evidence to authorities. Lady Victoria’s recent comments is not the first time she has come to Prince Andrew’s defense.

In April 2024, she appeared on a podcast and openly supported the Duke of York. “I can defend Prince Andrew and say this guy is absolutely innocent,” she said.

A year earlier, during a television interview in April 2023, Hervey made similar remarks. She argued that Andrew had not been media-trained at the time of his controversial BBC interview and insisted he had nothing to hide. According to her, “in his eyes, he’s never met that girl who accused him.”

Victoria also defended his decision to appear in public following the accusations. She said Andrew brought his daughter, Princess Beatrice, to the interview as a sign of transparency. “He doesn’t care about some sexual assault,” she said, “coz it didn’t happen.”

Virginia, however, maintains that she met Prince Andrew in London in March 2001, when she was 17. She says she had traveled with her then-boyfriend, Jeffrey Epstein, and was staying at the home of Ghislaine Maxwell, a close friend of the prince.

According to Giuffre, the group visited Tramp nightclub that evening. She claimed that Andrew asked what she wanted to drink, and she had vodka. She said the prince had something clear, though she couldn’t specify the drink.

Later that night, Giuffre alleged she was told to entertain the prince and engage in acts against her will—allegations Prince Andrew has firmly denied. Prince Andrew has maintained that he was not at the Tramp nightclub on that night.

He stated he had been at home with his children and took Princess Beatrice to a party at a Pizza Express in Woking between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m.

Andrew’s friend, Ghislaine, has long denied the accusations tied to Virginia’s claims. In court filings, she labeled the allegations as false. But in late 2021, a U.S. jury found otherwise.

Early one Thursday morning, at her home in Perth, Australia, Virginia was jolted awake by her husband. “Wake up! You’ve got to wake up! She’s guilty,” he said, shaking the bed.

Still groggy, Virginia learned the news: Ghislaine had been convicted on multiple sex-trafficking charges. The verdict followed a high-profile trial in which Ghislaine was found guilty of recruiting, grooming, and abusing girls in connection with Jeffrey.

The conviction meant Ghislaine could face up to 65 years in prison. For Virginia, it marked a turning point. “It’s a bittersweet emotion because I have been fighting for long,” she said. “But it’s definitely a relief to know that she’s off the streets.”
